—Ezekiel "Zeke" Stane[source]The plane story's a lie. The truth is... Dad died trying to kill Tony Stark. And I've spent my whole life trying to be nothing like him. He went full supervillain, in a suit a lot like yours.
History
As "Joe McGillicuddy"
Ezekiel Stane was born in the 1980s to Obadiah Stane, who died during the fight with Iron Man in 2008. After his father's death, Zeke learned of his father's deeds as the Iron Monger, which Ezekiel renounced himself, and promised to be nothing like Obadiah.[2]
He took on the alias Joe McGillicuddy and retreated from the public eye, eventually settling down in Evanston, Illinois. Also, he eventually built a stash of black market technology, which he avoided touching in order not to fabricate evidence against himself. In the present day, Joe briefly befriended and worked with Riri Williams,[1] until she accidentally connected him to a crime she committed and revealed his true identity to the public, which cost him his freedom.[2]
During his incarceration, Zeke was visited by Riri's former gang partner Parker Robbins, who upgraded his bionics to grant him superhuman abilities and ordered him to kill Riri.[3] Though Zeke spared her and urged her to leave Chicago, he soon discovered that Hood had secretly reprogramed his bionics to control him. After a final confrontation with Riri, she was able to free him from Parker’s influence, though Zeke’s resentment toward her endured.[4]Attributes
