The Realm of the Faltine was a dimension set within the Splinter Realms, nearby the Dark Dimension[4] (which was part of the "lower" universes relative to Faltine),[1] and home to the Faltine, beings of extremely powerful entities of energy.[5] It was described as a very old, very dense "universe" with more dimensions than even the Dark Dimension. It contained only energy but no matter.[1]
History
Sinifer sired Dormammu and Umar. The siblings were corrupted by their lust for matter, and mutated. They turned against Sinifer, transforming him in dark, dead matter.
They were consequently exiled from the Sphere of the Faltine. They eventually conquered the Dark Dimension.[3]
Given that those events were disclosed by "Flyx" (Dormammu in disguise, who intended to lure Clea into gathering allies among the Lords of the Netherworlds),[5] the truth about the following events remains unrevealed.
Five hundred "lesser cycles" ago, Faltine Kalijulaa attacked Pharnovion (a kin-being to Sinifer). Kalijulaa was ambushed by his third-quark proto-scion Wenigkyt who took control of Pharnovion's kin-grouping before Kalijulaa. Rukkoplu meanwhile allied with Kalijulaa. Other unrevealed events followed.

- The Faltine are sometimes presented as originating from the Dark Dimension[6] rather than from the Faltine Dimension (possibly by confusion due to Dormammu being more closely related to the Dark Dimension).
