Synopsis for ""The Ultroids Attack!""
(Story continues from last issue) Captain America is surprised to find the Scarlet Witch in Avengers Mansion. She relates that Quicksilver has been kidnapped by a UFO.
Elsewhere, Hawkeye nominates the Black Widow for membership, but Goliath objects on the grounds that the Avengers is not a "halfway house" for reformed criminals. A distress signal reaches the team. Despite Wanda's concern for her brother, Cap states that the Avengers must always concern themselves with innocent civilians first. Thus the Avengers (including the Scarlet Witch and the Black Widow) fly to the Balkans. There, they discover a huge computer named Ixar draining information from the village's Burgomeister, Hans Geldoff.
Ixar lured the Avengers to him in order to extract power use them to build the Ultroids. They also discover that the Scarlet Witch who accompanied them is a fake, she is in fact an Ultroid known as Ultrana.
Ultrana and the Ultroids attack the Avengers, capturing them all. They are to be subjected to Ixar's experiments. Since the Black Widow is not an Avenger, she is sent to be destroyed.Appearing in "From the Never-World Comes... Nebulos!"

Synopsis for "They Strike from Space!"
Following their battle against Pluto in Hades, Thor and Hercules return to Olympus, where a joyous Hercules announces that he broke his Pact with Pluto to rule Hades in the Death God's place, much to the chagrin of Ares. Thor leaves Hercules to return to Earth so that he may be reunited with Jane Foster. What Thor doesn't know is that Jane Foster, under the hypnotic suggestion of her roommate Tana Nile, is leaving New York City to points unknown so that she does not get in the way of Tana's plans for Thor.
Tana Nile changes into her true form, that of a member of the alien Rigellian race, who plan on attempting to colonize the Earth. Now in her true form, Tana calls in her Colonizer Commander to claim full rights of the planet Earth. She tries to refuse the colonizer ship to come to Earth an inspect the planet because she fears a battle will occur, however the colonizers disagree, believing that other than their feared threat from the Black Galaxy, they are invincible to any other foes.
Thor meanwhile, arrives on Asgard to ask his father if he would be allowed to marry Jane Foster, willing to forsake his own godhood in order to do so. To Thor's surprise, Odin finally concedes and will allow for Thor to marry Jane, and still remain the God of Thunder. Filled with joy, Thor rushes to Earth, however when he goes to Jane Foster's apartment he is attacked by Rigeillian Colonizers led by Tana Nile. Tana explains that they have laid claim to the Earth and intend to colonize the planet. When Thor tries to strike, Tana Nile uses her vast mental powers to subdue him, however Thor attempts to resist. As he is being subdued, Tana Nile explains how they intend on taking over the Earth by threatening to use a device called a Space Lock to move the Earth closer or farther from the sun, and wiping out the human race with the extreme environmental changes.
Thor continues to resist, and the Colonizers are forced to use a "Proton Coagulant Ray", encasing the Thunder God in a block of solidified protons. They decide that since with the exception of the entity in the Black Galaxy, Thor is the only one able to resist their mind probes the Colonizers decide to take Thor back to their ship for examination. Before going they give Tana Nile a wrist-control device for the Space Lock and give her complete colonization rights to the Earth.
The Colonizers load Thor up into their ship and leave the Earth, however Thor manages to break free of the proton cube he's been sealed in. As the ship flies into space, Tana Nile activate the Space Lock device and encases the Earth in its energy. Thor meanwhile, confronts the Colonizers in the ship and find that they have strength that matches his own. However, Thor manages to best them in battle, easily knocking them out.
With the Colonizers on the ship knocked out, Thor decides to allow the ship to continue its course to the planet Rigel, so that he may stop the Rigellians from taking over the Earth.

Synopsis for "The Sinister Shadow of... Doomsday!"
Continued from last issue....
The X-Men have arrived too late to try and stop the Mutant Master and his Factor Three organization from preparing to trigger events that the terrorist organization hopes will start World War III, the first part of their world domination plan. Having arrived in Mutant Master's control room, they find the room empty with only a video screen of the Mutant Master mocking them of his impending victory. Acting on one of Beast's hunches, the X-Men flee the base inside one of Factor Three's flying saucers just before the base explodes. As they fly away from the explosion, the X-Men begin planning on how to prevent Mutant Master from triggering another World War.
Meanwhile, at another one of their headquarters hidden in the United States, Changeling begins to question Mutant Master's authority and planning when he brings up the fact that the Mutant Master left behind functional saucer ships at their old base. However, Mutant Master reasserts his authority over Changeling by showing his powerful weapons and reiterates his plot to take over the world. With Blob and Vanisher preparing for the first phase of their plan, the Mutant Master once more reasserts his domination over Changeling.
The X-Men have returned to Professor Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and have begun planning their attempt at foiling Factor Three's plot. Dividing the group into two and taking the remaining Factor Three saucers on their mission, Marvel Girl, Angel and Beast go to the USSR while Cyclops and Iceman head to stop the plot against the United States.
The three X-Men arrive in Russia in order to prevent a bomb that has been planted at a meeting of high ranking Russian officials. However, their arrival is spotted by Russian military soldiers who open fire upon Angel, Marvel Girl and Beast. Beast orders Angel and Marvel Girl to go on while he handles the soldiers and they enter the government building where the meeting is taking place. However, their path is barred inside by the Vanisher and Blob who are waiting there to stop the X-Men from interfering with their plot.
Back at Factor Three's headquarters, a revived Professor X tries to rationalize with the Changeling, telling the already doubting mutant that a nuclear war would make the planet harmful to both humans and mutants alike. Put further into doubt by these words, the Changeling is still loyal to the Mutant Master and strikes Xavier for daring to speak out against their plot. However, when the Changeling threatens to execute the Professor, the Mutant Master prevents him from doing so.
Elsewhere, Cyclops and Iceman visit the military base that Factor Three intends to gas and try to explain the situation to the commanding Colonel on site. However, the Colonel finds the story hard to believe, with no time to waste the two X-Men decide that there is no other choice but fight their way to the weapon and disarm it. This causes a clash with the military, which Cyclops and Iceman are able to keep at bay with their mutant powers.
Finally, back in Russia, the other X-Men are attacked by Blob and Vanisher who are armed with high tech weapons. While Blob is disarmed by Angel, who also takes out the Factor Three minions that accompanied them, when Vanisher attempts to use his gas gun on Angel, Marvel Girl uses her telekinetic powers to knock Vanisher out and redirect the knock-out gas into Blob's face knocking him out as well. However, the Russian soldiers catch up to Marvel Girl and the Angel and hold them at gun point accusing them of being assassins. Not listening to the X-Men's story, they find themselves locked in a cell with the Beast (who was also captured) and their foes.
Monitoring the situation, the Mutant Master is happy to see that everything is going on schedule.
