Solicit Synopsis
It's a rainy night in Manhattan, and not a creature is stirring except for . . . Ben Grimm. When an intruder suddenly appears inside the Baxter Building, the Fantastic Four—Mister Fantastic (Reed Richards), the Invisible Woman (Susan Storm Richards), the Human Torch (Johnny Storm), and the Thing (Ben Grimm)—find themselves surrounded by a swarm of invading parasites. These carrion creatures composed of Negative Energy come to Earth using a human host as a delivery system. But for what purpose? And who is behind this untimely invasion?
The Fantastic Four have no choice but to journey into the Negative Zone, an alien universe composed entirely of anti-matter, risking not just their own lives but the fate of the cosmos!Accolades
- Alex Ross and Josh Johnson earned a nomination for Eisner Award in 2023 in "Best Coloring" category for their work on this issue. Alex Ross earned a nomination in "Best Cover Artist" category for covers for this and other books.[1]
- The nomination for "Best Cover Artist" listed "Fantastic Four", however, the Eisner Award is given for comics released in the previous year, and in 2022 Alex Ross hadn't worked on Fantastic Four series, only in 2023 he started working on Fantastic Four (Vol. 7), so most likely Fantastic Four: Full Circle #1 was meant instead. It was listed correctly in the nomination for "Best Coloring".
Notes
- Also contains a short story depicting the origin of the Fantastic Four, written and drawn by Alex Ross, printed on the dustjacket.
Trivia
- Alex Ross has multiple videos explaining how he created this series on his YouTube channel.
- A Previews Exclusives edition was produced, limited to 3000 copies. This edition came with an exclusive slipcase and bonus print.
- The '4' logo on the uniforms was created by Travis Charest for a 2013 sketchbook. Alex Ross was given permission to use it for this book.[2]
