Flash Thompson became an employee of the comedian Peter Parker who treated him poorly. He informed that Peter's Uncle Ben and Aunt May were on their way to Los Angeles to visit Peter. In response, Peter scolded Flash for not knocking on the door first and asked him rhetorically why he kept a "dunce" like him around. Peter then subsequently ordered Flash to tell Aunt May and Uncle Ben, who Peter found annoying, that he will be out of town for the rest of the year.[30]
