Farbauti was the wife of Laufey, king of the Frost Giants in Jotunheim. She gave birth to unusually small child named Loki much to the annoyance of her husband. Ashamed of his son's small size, Laufey kept Loki hidden from his people.[1]

It was said that the night Loki was born, she stabbed her own heart with an ice dagger, but Loki suspected Laufey could had been the real perpetrator of her death.[2]

When Odin led the Asgardians into battle against the Frost Giants and killed their king Laufey in personal combat. Afterwards, Odin found Loki hidden within the Frost Giants' primary stronghold.[1]

Mother was an interdimensional parasite that lurked in the Multiverse seeking out powerful beings and realities to feed on. She tethered herself to parents and began to act overbearingly parental and protective; she impersonated Farbauti to trick Loki.[3]

Presumably the same powers typical of a Frost Giant

  • Farbauti was originally a Storm Giant,[1] and is sometimes still stated as such.[4]
  • In Norse mythology, the genders of Loki's two parents are the opposite of these, Fárbauti being his father.
