Synopsis for 1st story
Valkyrie, the "last shieldmaiden and defender of Asgardia, recalls standing on sea cliffs and watching storms while ignoring warnings of "ill omens."
In the North Atlantic Ocean, a storm rages as Misty Knight, "badass private investigator," infiltrates a Container ship and summarily incapacitates the crew, discovering a cache of "ugly trinkets" on board. Moments later, a helicopter arrives carrying the crew of Caroline Le Fay, who open fire on Misty and force her to dive into the ocean with one of the "trinkets." Le Fay's men retrieve the crate of artifacts, noting that "some of the lesser relics were lost."
The next day, at "a mass Viking grave" in the White Mountain National Forest, Misty meets with Dr. Annabelle Riggs, who "grew up watching a lot of Indiana Jones," to deliver the artifact, which Riggs identifies as "a representation of an Asgardian messenger spirit" that is a sort of music box. Riggs accidentally activates the relic, and its music reanimates the Viking corpses, which attack the team of archaeologists.
Misty fights the undead warriors using the Satan Claw 2.0, a "Stark Industries cybernetic replica," before Valkyrie arrives. The pair battle the Vikings until Valkyrie realizes that the corpses have been reanimated by the music of the relic. She protects Riggs from the attacking Vikings until Riggs kisses her, then uses the sword Dragonfang to shatter the relic, silencing its music and deanimating the Viking corpses.
As Valkyrie prepares to return to Asgard, Riggs persuades her to allow her to accompany her, and Misty offers to accompany the pair as a bodyguard, though Valkyrie warns of "filth and vermin...deceit and insanity...of torture and seduction and...of rage." She explains that the Doommaidens are rising, and claims that she is responsible.
