History

On Earth-TRN911, two passenger airplanes belonging to the government exploded mid-flight, apparently killing all on board. The Air Force investigated, along with other security forces including the FBI, and they discovered that both planes carried secret information. They assumed that spies that planted bombs before the take-off and somehow managed to steal the documents. The security forces sent undercover agents among the passengers (which was publicly known), but disasters continued happening. At one point, however, journalist Peter Parker travelled on a plane along with genius Brohoober. The plane was attacked mid-flight by the Piratas del Aire and Brohoober was kidnapped - that was the M.O. of the attackers, hijacking the plane, stealing the documents and/or kidnapping scientists, then blowing up the plane to cover their tracks. Parker's presence spoiled their plan (because Parker was the superhero El Hombre Araña) and prevented the plane from being destroyed, which allowed the authorities to trail the pirates and arresting several of them (Other pirates were killed).[1]

At a later point, J. Jonah Jameson, publisher of the newspaper Clarín, was given a letter with incriminatory information from a reformed criminal, which dealt with a Mafia drug dealing organization led by corrupt Senator Roger Steves. The criminal attacked more details, asking Jameson to provide those to the F.B.I. Fearing that the Mafia would break into his own safe to steal the letter, Jameson asked his employee Peter Parker to hide the letter at his own home, where nobody would look for it; and the following day, Parker and Jameson's secretary Betty Brant could take the letter to the FBI. Parker kept the letter at his home the following day, wanting to check with Jameson before taking the letter to the FBI. Then, Jameson was visited by lawer Matthew Murdock, who claimed his client was the owner of the envelope; but Jameson falsely said the FBI had already received it. Still, Jameson decided to keep the information for some more time, because he was afraid that Murdock and/or Steves may be involved with the Mafia. Eventually, however, the superhero Diabólico (secretly Murdock) stole the envelope from Parker's home, then defeated and apprehended the criminal without FBI involvement.[2]
