Bruce Babbage was a general in the U.S. Army who wanted to stop Tony Stark from being Iron Man and use his armor as a military weapon. He then allied with Justine Hammer and forced Stark to use a special attachment in his armor to shut it down remotely, citing that as Tony got drunk during the attack of the Serpent he could use someone else's judgement - in reality Babbage simply wished to control Iron Man.[citation needed]
As Stark had (again) opted out of the defense industry, Babbage had went as far as to signing up both Hammer Industries and the Mandarin to deliver hardware for the US Army.[1]
After realizing he allied himself with the wrong people, such as Mandarin and the Hammers, he killed himself in shame.[2]Paraphernalia
