History
Despite being asked by Conan,[1] the exact circumstances that led to the necromancer Vacharn living on the lonely isle of Na'at are unknown.
Vacharn included his family to be of the people of Zothique, who fled Atlantis to the continents westwards (Zothique, or Mayapan) after the Great Cataclysm.[1]
Naat was one of many names and words of the ancient tongues, used in an incantation from the scroll of Chthon, "Xiccarph Ansarth Chaon Gacca Zul-Bah-Sair Phariom Mordiggian Naat Yadar Obexah Mordiggiom", that would cast a blinding burst, while having the scroll vanish.[2]Points of Interest

- The Isle of Naat was created by Clark Ashton Smith in "Necromancy in Naat", adapted in Conan the Savage #10 (May, 1996) as "The Necromancers of Na'at", where the isle's name was written "Na'at".
- Naat in its original spelling was part of a spell from the Scroll of Chthon in "Swordless in Zamboula" (Savage Sword of Conan #195, March, 1992), which featured many names created by Clark Ashton Smith.
