Notes

  • This is the comic adaptation of the Battlestar Galactica TV series premiere episode "Saga of a Star World".
    • The special also includes an interview with Special Effects Supervisor/Line Producer John Dykstra conducted by Steve Swires and titled "The Wizard of Hollywood's Dream Factory" as well as four articles written by Tom Rogers: "Life in the Future"; "Battle Tactics"; "Spaceships and Such: Hardware of the Future" and "Aliens and Robots". This section is illustrated with pin-ups by Dave Cockrum, John Tartaglione, Mark Bright, Rick Marschall, Carl Gafford and John Romita Jr..
  • The first half of this Super Special was reprinted in a recolored and expanded version was published as "Battlestar Galactica Vol 1 1". The second half was completely redrawn for the following two issues and none of the original art was reprinted in "Battlestar Galactica Vol 1 2" or "Battlestar Galactica Vol 1 3."
  • Artist Ernie Colon did not have proper reference material for most of the actors when he drew the original version. An attempt has been made to fix most of these anachronisms in the second version.
  • On the second page, Baltar was originally drawn as a bald man. Hair was added in the monthly version.
  • Pages 5 and 6 of the Super Special have been replaced by completely new art.
  • Starting on page 7, Colonel Tigh was originally drawn to resemble actor Richard Hatch (Apollo) instead of Terry Carter, and wore a pilot's uniform instead of a command uniform. His likeness and costume were altered in all panels he appears in for the monthly issue.
  • Pages 8 and 9 of the Super Special have been replaced by completely new art. On the original version of page 9, Baltar was mistakenly drawn to resemble actor Lorne Greene (Adama).
  • On page 10, Apollo was originally drawn with shorter hair, which was colored yellow in the first two panels he appears in, but black in the third. In the revised version, his hair is black and has been altered to look more like Richard Hatch's haircut in the series.
  • Pages 11 and 12 of the Super Special have been replaced by completely new art in the first issue of the monthly series.
  • Pages 17 and 18 of the Super Special have been replaced by completely new art in the first issue of the monthly series.
