History

Moira was born to Ramon and FBI Agent Catherine Gray, and named after her maternal grandmother. She manifested her uncontrollable mutant power of pyrokinesis while still an infant. On one such occasion, she badly burned her mother, requiring a stay in the hospital. The doctors took steps to repress her power, and returned her to her family. However, it was not to last; one night, while Catherine watched her daughter in her crib, the baby girl spontaneously burst into flame and died. Ever since then, Catherine had been wary of mutants.
