History

Background[]

Fooh was a former Dragon-King who secretly constructed technology for the corrupt Yu-Ti despite it being forbidden in K'un-Lun; some of his projects included the Randall Machine and the One. When they were children, Danny Rand and Sparrow came across one of his secret workshops and he ordered them arrested to maintain his secrecy.[3][4]

As an adult, Danny became the Iron Fist and destroyed the One during the Challenge of the One, which was secretly rigged by the Yu-Ti. To cover this up, Yu-Ti had Fooh stripped of his immortality and executed. However, Fooh did not pass on and he was left in a state of limbo, remaining on Earth as a spirit.[1]

The Living Weapon[]

Over a decade later, the One destroyed K'un-Lun and killed many, including the new Yu-Ti Lei-Kung. Danny was nearly killed by the One until he was rescued by Fooh and Sparrow.[5] Fooh and Sparrow took Danny to one of Fooh's hideouts and nursed his wounds.[6] Due to time flowing differently in their hideout, Danny retrained himself and healed his broken bones while Fooh constructed mechanical bracers for him to compensate for his lost chi. With a duplicate Randall Gate, Fooh had Danny travel to Diyu to overcome his inner turmoil before using the Machine again to teleport all three of them to New York City to stop the One.[7] Upon entering Earth, Fooh disappeared and when questioned by Danny, Sparrow revealed that wasn't aware of his presence the entire as she believed he died years ago. Danny reunited with Fooh underneath the Rand Tower, where he revealed the truth of his status and help Danny siphon the chi from the people Davos and the One had captured.[8] When the One accidentally summoned Zhu Rong and gave up its remaining life force to empower Danny with enough chi to destroy Zhu Rong, the resulting explosion of chi restored Fooh to life. Fooh revealed that although he had programmed the One to resurrect him by any means, its destruction of K'un-Lun was not part of its programming and that his own resurrection was unexpected. Fooh used the remaining energies of the Randall Gate to send himself and the displaced K'un-Lun natives back to K'un-Lun.[9]

Heart of the Dragon[]

When the Capital Cities of Heaven were under attack by hordes of undead warriors, Fooh repaired the Randall Gate under the Rand Building to travel with Danny to the Under City, but both failed to stop Taskmaster from slaying and taking the heart of the Under City's dragon. They were able to travel back to the Rand Building to stop Lady Bullseye from killing Gork.[10] Fooh, Danny, Gork, Pei and Luke Cage were summoned to the Heart of Heaven by Quan Yin, where she told them that to prevent the forces of the Eighth City from destroying the other cities' dragons, Fooh had to use his technology to manifest all the cities onto Earth so that the combined forces of the surviving Immortal Weapons and Earth's heroes can prevent the Eighth City's gates from opening. Fooh activated his machine, which created portals to the other Cities on Earth and summoned Dog Brother #1, Fat Cobra and the Bride of Nine Spiders to the Heart of Heaven. Together, they were able to close the Eighth City's gates and traveled to the other summoned Cities to fight off the undead.[11] When confronted by the Heirophant and Brenda Swanson, Fooh drew their attention by fleeing to the Randall Machine on Earth and destroyed it while they were inside it, which destroyed the portals and left the villains trapped.[12] Unfortunately, the Heirophant used the power he claimed from the dragons he slain to create a portal back to the Eighth City, but he was killed in battle by Okoye, who inherited the power of the other dragons and the Iron Fist. After the dragons were revived and Okoye refused to be the next Iron Fist, per Fooh's suggestion a ceremony was held where Okyoe transferred the Iron Fist to Shou-Lao's reborn egg for another successor to take the mantle.[13]
