History

At some point prior to Maestro's reign, the Knowhere crashed on the Battleworld. This act of fate marooned its original inhabitants on the strange and violent planet. Seeing a world in turmoil, the original Guardians who landed here opted to hide in the nearby mountains rather than launch a blind attack on this powerful being. It was here they found a few small groups of other refugees and runaways who also hoped to outrun the long reach of Maestro. The lost were now found, and the Guardians had brought some much-welcomed relief in their arrival. The Guardians are a true melting pot of misfits and outsiders, and any resemblance of a true form of government is only through the collective power of territory leaders meeting before King Groot to discuss and settle matters in a way that all parties can agree to.
