At Fort Dix, Timothy Dugan gave Captain America his old army footlocker.

S.H.I.E.L.D. scientist Gaffer then studied the Strucker robot which attacked the base, until Machinesmith remotely activated its self-destruct.

Trivia

In Captain America Comics #1, a military base called Fort Bix was devastated by saboteurs' explosives, which was "predicted" minutes earlier by a psychic act carried out by a Nazi spy to demoralize the public. Fort Bix is plainly a pastiche for Fort Dix.
