History

Punisher seemingly had a similar history as his Earth-616 counterpart.

He joined with a group of other superheroes to investigate several murders in the superhero community. When he discovered the corpses of the Guardians of the Galaxy, he took the murder weapon and hoped to use it as poetic justice. Unfortunately for Frank, the killer had sabotaged the gun so when he fired it, it backfired and killed him.
