History
Reed Richards' device caught the attention of scientist Franklin Storm and his adopted daughter, Sue, who had been similarly trying to send matter to another planet via teleportation but had as yet not been able to bring anything they sent back. Franklin extended an invitation to attend college on a full-ride research grant working on the project under his supervision in New York City, which Reed gratefully accepted. During the course of the project, Franklin also brought in disgraced scientist Victor von Doom, who competed with Reed for Sue's affections, and his own son, Johnny, an excellent engineer who had gotten into a car accident while street-racing, to help.[1]
