Synopsis for "Escalator to Armageddon"
The SAW viper is closing in on Duke, Lt. Falcon, and Cross Country, and the three Joes are armed only with their sidearms. The SAW viper wants them for himself, and he orders his allies to hold their fire. Meanwhile, Clutch, Rock N Roll, and Wildcard are parachuting to the Earth, but their lines rip. Wildcard remembers to deploy the secondary chutes, but Clutch is unhappy and throttles him.
Tomax and Xamot stand at the border fence of the Emirate of Benzheen, an oil-rich country, and they call Cobra Commander for further orders. When asked about the Joes, the brothers reveal what they have done, and Cobra Commander is furious. The twins destroy the Emir's yacht, but the Emir escapes in a mini-jet launched from it.
The Mobile Battle Bunker meets up with Duke, and they leave the bodies of the fallen behind and take off after the SAW viper. Cobra Commander is briefed by the twins and is distraught to learn that seven Joes were shot. Now that Duke has some firepower, he intends to catch up to the SAW viper, kicking Wildcard, Clutch, and Rock N roll out of the gunner positions and driver's seats.
Hawk has mobilized the entire team, all reserves, and all auxiliaries, and the Emir has officially requested the aid of the US government. The Joes are going to Benzheen. All of them. The excerpt is filled with high-stakes action and tension, with the fate of the Joes and the Emirate of Benzheen hanging in the balance.
