Synopsis for "Previous Agreement"

The story opens with Recon Team Bravo, a group of Joe operatives, pinned down behind parked cars in front of a Porsche Dealership at Talib Square in the city of Benzheen by Cobra forces. While they await reinforcements, two Cobra operatives, an Alley Viper and a Frag-Viper, are ordered to flank the Joes and set up a crossfire position. As the Joes discuss their last hot meal, the Emir of Benzheen observes the battle map and gets upset at the red marker that represents Battle-Force 2000, an advancing unit. The Emir is concerned that a battle in that location could bankrupt him.

Meanwhile, Battle-Force 2000 is advancing through the reserve oil storage. They talk about how Cobra took over to snag the oil tanks, and that Cobra doesn't even know they're there. They are told that the main forces have already overrun their objective, and Hawk redirects them to Abu Talib Square to relieve Recon Team Bravo.

Deep Recon Team, consisting of Roadblock, Tunnel Rat, and Muskrat, have just disengaged from a Cobra ambush and begin to proceed to Recon Team Bravo's position. Backed into a dead end, Tunnel Rat finds a ladder leading up to a trap door.

As the battle rages on, Dusty realizes that they are on their own again. Stalker decides that the best course of action is to rush the Cobras and "collect a little payback" before cashing in their chips. As Recon Team Bravo rushes, Recoil and Ambush are hit. Stalker orders Dusty to leave Sneak-Peek behind and keep moving, but Dusty disobeys and moves to recover Sneak-Peek's body. At the same time, Deep Recon Team breaks through a door directly behind the Cobra forces and begins to mow them down. Dodger rams his Marauder through the same building and opens fire on the Cobras.

Recon Team Bravo, Deep Recon Team, and Dodger make their way back to the command post. Stretcher rushes out to give them medical assistance and checks Sneak-Peek. Realizing that Sneak-Peek had been dead for hours, he asks Dusty why he carried him all the way back here. Dusty replies, "I promised."

In the end, the Emir calls Cobra Commander and demands to know why he destroyed the oil storage tanks. Cobra Commander responds that the offer was too low, and that they should bargain again now that they both know the rules. The story is a typical battle scenario in the G.I. Joe franchise, with various teams of operatives coming together to fight against the Cobra forces. The story emphasizes the camaraderie between the Joes and their willingness to risk their own lives to protect one another.
