Synopsis for "The Commander Escapes"

A team of Joes led by Duke, drops from a C-130 onto a plateau in the Rockies, with the prisoner, Cobra Commander, and two crates containing pre-fabricated fortresses. Meanwhile, at Cobra headquarters, Destro is about to shoot Major Bludd, only for the Baroness to enter alive and well, revealing that Bludd rescued her and Cobra Commander tried to kill Destro. They then discuss how to take over Cobra now that the Commander is a prisoner.

On the plateau, the fortress has been assembled and Duke and Cobra Commander debate fortification tactics. The Joe sergeant explains that the base can only be taken by infantry who will have to parachute in, and there are installed weapons to take out both aircraft and parachutists. At Cobra headquarters, they discover that Storm Shadow is searching for Cobra Commander, and Major Bludd reveals he secreted a homing device in Storm Shadow's sword, allowing them to locate the Commander.

In the air, Storm Shadow and the Trooper study satellite images and confirm the location of the Joes. In an attempt to rescue Cobra Commander, Storm Shadow flies up on a C.L.A.W., grabs him, and flies off. However, Duke manages to open the second crate revealing a Sky Hawk and takes off in it with Roadblock and Gung-Ho following on the ground to collect the Cobras. In the end, Cobra Commander escapes, and the Joes discover a mail receipt in Storm Shadow's pocket leading to Chokoloskee, Florida.
