History

When the Fantastic Four and the Avengers sacrificed their lives to destroy Onslaught, Franklin Richards, the son of the FF's Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman subconsciously created a pocket universe to save their lives. There they spent an entire year reliving living new lives "reborn" into a reality where they recently gained their abilities that vaguely mirror how they gained their powers originally.[1]

In this new universe, Franklin created populated universe, including recreations of many of these heroes allies and foes. Among these creations was one based on Air-Walker, former herald of Galactus. In this pocket dimension, Air-Walker would also be a herald of Galactus. While his origins are unknown mostly unknown, his first recorded appearance was millions of years ago when he was charged with implanting the Catalyst Pod on the planet Earth causing the planet to flourish into a world which Galactus would feed on at a later date.[2]

In modern times, as the other heralds Silver Surfer, Plasma, Terrax, and Firelord were sent to Earth to deal with it's super-powered beings and place an initial set of terraformers to help Galactus consume the Earth, Air-Walker was kept back. Air-Walker would be the Galactus' ace in the hole, as the other heralds would create great casualties on the Earth heroes side and keep them distracted while Air-Walker placed an undetected terraformer in Antarctica which would be the key to allow Galactus to devour Earth. Although Galactus would succeed, Dr. Doom would use his time machine to travel back and prevent this fate from happening, each jump back in time causing events to happen differently.[3]

Each jump back would have Air-Walker take a more active role in the heralds preparation for Earth's consumption. In the second jump in time, Air-Walker would openly defend Galactus in New York City from an attack by surviving Avengers Captain America, Thor and Iron Man, gravely injuring them all. In the third trip back, Air-Walker would succeed in killing the Fantastic Four. In the fourth and final jump back, Air-Walker would be prevented from killing the Fantastic Four by the Avengers and Dr. Doom. His ultimate fate following the destruction of Galactus remains unrevealed.[4]
