History

Immediately after the Mutant Massacre, Gambit was abducted by Galactus who proclaimed him as his new herald and explained to him his mission: to steal a planet from the Collector's Museum which the Collector would instantly destroy if Galactus himself attempted force. Gambit traveled to Collector's private gallery and used a combination of his mutant powers and Power Cosmic abilities to create chaos, while absorbing energy which prevented the Collector from destroying his prize - a perfect copy of Taa. Galactus himself then showed up, and condemned the Collector to live on the impostor copy of his home, which was found to be a dead, lifeless world. For his service, Galactus then freed Gambit of his duties.
