After Silver Surfer defied him one more time, Galactus struck him down. The Surfer fell to Earth, where his dying body was found by young Rogue, who absorbed his memories and powers. Rogue confronted "Big G" both for altering her destiny and for his lack of concern for his Heralds and his victim planets alike. Ordered to find a new planet to satiate his hunger, Rogue presented Galactus a world that Silver Surfer knew about but never dared to offer. Giant dragon-like beasts slumbering at its core attacked Galactus, but he easily swatted them away and struck at Rogue for daring to trick him. Rogue threatened to drain the power of Galactus with a touch; he humored her by allowing it and giving her a glimpse of a universe without him: an endless emptiness with no life whatsoever. Humbled by the vision, Rogue accepted her new role as a Herald, but asked Galactus to spare two of each creature from the chosen worlds.[1]
