History

After being caught by Kang the Conqueror, Silver Surfer sought help from Spider-Man who gave him his surfboard and with it Spider-Man went to Silver Surfer's master, Galactus. Galactus, irritated that Kang had stolen the cosmic power from his Herald, gave to Spider-Man a device with which he restored the Silver Surfer's powers.
