History
Gamora was the adopted daughter of Thanos the Just, a wise and noble peacekeeper from the moon of Titan. Unlike her sister Nebula who led her father's Peace Force, Gamora rejected his way and became a space pirate, joining Lord Starkill's Ravagers. Her father never lost hope for Gamora, believing that she would one day come back home.[1]
After Lord Starkill returned to the Ravager's asteroid base hideout after a mission on Gaia, they were attacked by the rival Zeta Flight led by Starkill's nemesis Corporal Carol Danvers. The Ravagers fought back and restrained the intruders, after which Lord Starkill thought of selling his nemesis and her crew to Thanos in order to clear his own name.[2] However the rest of the Ravagers, Gamora in particular, found his plan extremely dangerous and foolhardy. The Zetas have grown tired of their leader Danvers acting weirdly as well and so the two group sided together in a shared mutiny against their captains, deciding to deliver both of them to Titan.[1]
Upon landing on Titan, Gamora was welcomed by her sister in peace only to start a brawl with Nebula in turn. They were stopped by the arrival of their father, who offered his forgiveness to Gamora and took the captives to the Court of Galactic Justice. Thanos found the lives of two criminals incapable of redemption worth nothing to hand over in exchange until Rockette revealed the Reality Stone taken from Quill. Seeing what he did not truly believe existed until now, Thanos ordered every pirate seized and announced his intention to use the Stone to rid of the galaxy of all who pirate and pillage like they do.Upon hearing that, the pirates attacked Thanos' forces, with Gamora attacking her father to take the Reality Stone from him. Nebula was enraged at her for harming Thanos, but Thanos held no ill will towars his daughter and ordered Nebula to let her sister and her friends go, saying that justice would find them regardless.[1]
