History
The Gangers were created by Dr. Alexei Ganger to work towards his goal of locating and communicating with the Silver Surfer. They worked alongside The Doctor's granddaughter Sorrentino to locate the Surfer after he returned to Earth.[1] Following Sorrentino's orders they kidnapped Phillip Masters to lure the Surfer in.[2] When the Surfer declined Dr. Ganger's wish to serve as a messiah for them, the Gangers were ordered to turn against him and 'attacked'.[3] This attack was in fact a cover to siphon off some of the Surfers Power Cosmic with which Dr. Ganger sought to create his own messiah.[4] The Gangers shot the stolen cosmic energies into the statue of the Cosmic Messiah[5] and were then ordered to kidnap Alicia Masters from her home before being reduced to energy alongside the rest of those present within Satori and then later being reconstituted.[6]
