Synopsis for "Of Leather and Lace"
Cordelia Frost seeks out Shinobi Shaw to claim her sister Emma Frost's vacant position as the White Queen in the Hellfire Club's Inner Circle. She presents a captured mutant named Mondo as a gift to the club to prove her worthiness. However, before her request can be considered, their lair is attacked by shock troopers on the orders of a mysterious man named Barrington. Cordelia is puzzled that Shaw did not offer any resistance.
At Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, Jubilee and Penance enjoy a pool day until Penance has a seizure. Emma tries to help her telepathically, but then a visitor named Cordelia arrives, seeking Emma's assistance urgently.
While Mondo escapes from his captors and ends up at Boston harbor, Cordelia informs Emma that she and Mondo were en route to the school when they were attacked, resulting in Mondo's abduction. Emma, unable to read Cordelia's mind, has no choice but to believe her story. But she is very sceptic.
In Boston, Mondo eludes his pursuers using his morphing abilities. Generation X, led by Emma, arrives in time to engage the shock troopers in a battle.
At the school, Chamber watches over Penance, who is comatose, probably due to Emplate's influence. Moira MacTaggert suggests bringing Penance to Muir Island, but Banshee hesitates. He is torn because Moira is infected with the Legacy Virus. But Moira has accepted her fate and both expresses their love for each other.
Back in Boston, Generation X rescues Mondo from the troopers. It is decided that Mondo will stay at the school, but Emma wants Cordelia to leave. Mondo, though, still supports Cordelia, expressing his trust and support for her, even after her role in his kidnapping. Cordelia leaves, not willing to abandon her big plans.
