A Genius Loci is a location with a mind. A sentient planet, country, island, city, or street.[citation needed]
History
- Ego the Living Planet was a unique case; he originated like any other planet, coalescing over millions of years from cosmic gases and dust. But unlike any other known planets, Ego developed consciousness and intelligence.[1]
- Krakoa, the Living Island, whose life had been mutated into a single organism by a nuclear test.[5]
- Kathulos was a sentient planetoid who battled Doctor Strange.[6]
- Cloud, of the Defenders, was a sentient Nebula, an immense cloud of gas, with the ability to assume human form.[7]
- Spragg the Living Hill, was a hill controlling people's minds. She-Hulk fought him, then sent him to space.[8]
- The Chrysler Building became sentient during the events of World War Hulk.[9]
- King Thor for a time assumed the form of a planet orbited by moons of Uru, and became Thor the Thunder World.[10]
- Doom at some point after being defeated by King Thor,[11] somehow returned and became a living planet, calling himself Doom The Living Planet.[12]
- Singularity was a living Pocket Dimension.[13]
- The Venom symbiote used the powers of James Madrox to generate countless copies of itself and used them to create thousands of living planets called Meatgarden Edens.[14]
