History

For Despicable Deadpool #300, writer Gerry Duggan inserted himself in the story and approached Deadpool when Wade was trying to hitch a ride to offer him the chance to answer any questions he might have had. Duggan panicked after Deadpool pointed out how similar the situation was to Grant Morrison's self-insertion in Animal Man #26. Deadpool reassured Duggan he was not angry for all the things he was put through, but shot him in the head in order to steal his car.
