Synopsis for "The Blood of Kings! / Chapter II The Land Between Night and Day! / Chapter III Fates and Fables! / Interlude: Meanwhile, Back in Katharta..! / Chapter IV This World and Next...!"

When the forces of the evil wizard Klonus have taken over Korrek's home realm of Katharta, Dakimh and Jennifer Kale dispatch the Man-Thing to that realm to rescue Korrek from execution at Klonus' devices. Transporting both Korrek and Man-Thing to the Realm Between Night and Day, Korrek explains to Dakimh and Kale that upon returning home during their last adventure together, his realm was under invasion of Klonus and the royal family (his parents) were killed effectively making Korrek ruler of Katharta.

After considering how inhospitable Katharta is, Dakimh believes that the evil wizard Klonus wants control of the realm because of its mystical significance in the Nexus of All Realities. All parties agree to go back to Katharta to liberate it from the rule of Klonus. Before they depart, Dakimh warns that one of them is fated to perish in battle. During their fight against Klonus and his henchman Mortak, they are transported back to Earth, where their battle resumes in Citrusville.
The fight ends with Dakimh being struck down by a spell cast by Klonus, Jennifer then uses her powers to entrap Mortak and Klonus in mystical cocoons and they are banished into space. Before Dakimh dies, he tells everyone gathered that he knew all along that he was the one fated to die, but kept it to himself to insure that the others would fight to their fullest ability. Afterwords the Man-Thing returns to the swamp leaving Korrek and Jennifer to deal with Dakimh's body.

Sserpo (Earth-616) from Amazing Adventures Vol 1 6 001

Our protagonist, an early SETI pioneer, has a great-grandfather who despairs from failing at creating a growth formula and so tosses it into the ocean. One hundred years later, our story begins where the vial is consumed by a small lizard-like creature. The missing ingredient for the growth formula turns out to be simply water and so Sserpo, as the lizard-like creature is named, begins to grow. The first humans to encounter him pull him into their boat with a net only to find that he is even bigger by the time they reach their island. Sserpo continues to grow until he makes the island sink and heads for Australia, nearly 1000 feet tall. The Australians use rockets to get Sserpo to turn back into the sea and he heads for Japan at nearly 2000 feet tall. The Japanese are worried that he will sink their island and so use an atomic bomb to frighten Sserpo off. The military are worried about his continued growth and so they attempt to slay him with a hydrogen bomb, but Sserpo just shrugs it off. All scientists are panicked, fearing Sserpo will grow so large he will upset the orbit of Earth, but our hero refuses to give in to fear and doggedly continues his attempts using radio equipment to contact the largest planet, Jupiter. He succeeds, and the Jupiterians send a skyhook across space to snag the now-visible-from-space Sserpo off the planet, saving Earth.

They send up a ship to retrieve Brett from orbit, because although he has no spacesuit, he has suffered no ill effects as he is a robot.
