History
Gila was once a regular reptile, who gained intelligence when she drank a sample of Curt Connors' DNA which leaked into the sewer. Gila and her companions Gecko and Monitor also inherited The Lizard's superhuman strength. They kidnapped Connors, claiming that he was their 'father'. Unlike the others, Gila respected humans, and refused to let them destroy Spider-Man when he tried to save Curt, but Gila was chained up as well. When Mary Jane Watson, Margaret Connors and Debra Whitman arrived, Gila was returned to normal along with the other lizards.
