Gloria Wyatt was the wife of[1] respected[2] Congressman James T. Wyatt.[3] She was used to a life of luxury buying furs, shoes and handbags, then going out to late night dinners with his male friends almost daily, thus spending huge amounts of Congressman Wyatt's money. This was one of the causes of Wyatt starting to make illegal deals to raise a lot of money,[1] yet Congressman Wyatt was also a very ambitious man who yearned for not only money, but also far more power than what democracy could provide him, having thus several reasons to commit crimes.[2] Congressman Wyatt was not faithful to his wife, having enjoyed holidays in the company of at least two younger girls paid for with taxpayers' money.[3]
