Iron-Bound Books
Before humanity started binding books, Shuma-Gorath, Skelos, Vathelos and others created iron-bound books,[1] containing eldritch lore and spells.
Such iron-bound tomes included the Iron-Bound Books of Shuma-Gorath, the Iron-Bound Book of Skelos, the Iron-Bound Books of Vathelos the Blind, and the Book of Kathulos the Slave-Seer.
During his 16th century adventures, Solomon Kane met Yussef of Hadji who had learned of the Staff of Solomon in the "old" iron-bound-books.[2]
During the Modern Age, as the Invaders tried to save the town of Vliet, Netherlands, from a curse tracing back to World War II, Namor had his apprentice science-mages inquire the entity behind all those events, whom they identified as Shuma-Gorath. By consulting the Iron-Bound Book (presumably Shuma-Gorath's), they identified artifcacts that could help remove the curse.[3]
