Nick Fury's Eye Patch
Nick Fury's eyepatch is one of his inconic features. The origin of the injury has varied over the years. He has 95% vision loss in his injured left eye, over which he wears a cosmetic eyepatch.
The injury was revealed to have been is due to an injury to his left eye from a grenade during World War II. The Fantastic Four featured Nick Fury without an eyepatch, when he was working for the CIA. and again while fighting in the Korean War. It was later revealed Fury wore a bionic eye replacement.
Nick Fury, Jr.
Leviathan, a terrorist organization with a grudge against Fury kidnapped his adult son Nick Fury, Jr. and in a fit of poetic torture, cut out his eye. Afterwards he decided to adopt on eyepatch much like his estranged father.
Marvel Cinematic Universe (Earth-199999)
The origin of how Nick Fury lost the use of his eye remained a mystery for many years. He claimed he lost it when he trusted someone once. The truth was revealed that he was playing with Goose a Flerken (a creature that resembled an Earth Cat) when he scratched him over his eye. He later claimed he injured it battling the Kree. Even though Fury was presented with an assortment of replacement eyes, he chooses to wear an eye patch instead.
Ultimate Marvel Universe (Earth-1610)
was transporting Wolverine through Iraq when they were ambushed. Wolverine was freed and slaughtered all the Iraqi fighters. It was in this ambush that Fury lost an eye and from then on would wear an eye patch.
