History

The woman that became Goodfire was one of a trio of hired muscles gathered by the Mad Thinker when he set out to form a new Fantastic Four. Using the equipment owned by Rachna Koul, the Mad Thinker granted himself and the rest of the team powers similar to those of the original Fantastic Four. Goodfire possessed the ability to envelop her entire body on a blue flame, though she wasn't capable of turning off her powers.[1]

Calling himself Mister Fantastic, the Mad Thinker took his new Fantastic Four to an alternate universe where the Human Torch and The Thing had become stuck during a multiversal journey in the search for their family.[2] The Mad Thinker intended to eliminate them to consolidate his team since he believed they needed to declutter the void left by the Fantastic Four from its remnants. Despite the fact that both the Human Torch and The Thing were powerless, they managed to hold their own against the Thinker's team. After the Human Torch knocked down Lumen, Goodfire lunged at him. However, Lumen's powers were out of control, causing him to distort the light waves of the environment. She tried to hit The Thing but crashed into a wall instead. After dealing with the remaining members of the Fantastic Four, the Human Torch and The Thing escaped.[1]

The duo regained their powers before their second encounter against the new Fantastic Four, and easily defeated the villain and his pretenders. The Human Torch absorbed Goodfire's flame, rendering her temporarily powerless. Before Johnny knocked her out, she thanked him and expressed relief that she could be normal again, and he promised to get her help to permanently undo the mutation. Afterwards, the Human Torch and The Thing returned home, taking the Mad Thinker's team with them.[3]
