History

Not much is known about the man known as Gore, a dwarf born with various deformities. He had a vast wealth, which he likely inherited. By his own accounts he was shunned by society due to his appearance and soon became devoted to killing random people. He became obsessed with radio and would transmit a Morse Code message repeating the letter "D" over and over over broadcasts featuring his intended targets. He would then hire criminals to rig radio operated death traps in electronic equipment in the homes of his victims.

His first known victim was prominent attorney Edward Wade, who's radio was rigged to electrocute him upon contact. His next victim would be a prominent business executive, whose phone was rigged to fire a poison dart once a connection was established. The freak broadcasts would attract the attention of FCC agent Jerry Carstairs who was secretly the costumed hero known as the Thunderer. Hearing the same Morse Code interrupting a broadcast performance of singer Mary Graham, Carstairs deduced that she was the next victim. Following Graham home as the Thunderer, Carstairs would be too late to stop her from turning on her radio triggering a gun to go off and fatally shoot her.

Spotting Gore's minions fleeing the scene, the Thunderer would catch up to them and force them into bringing him to their employer. Gore then attempt to kill the Thunderer by trapping him in the basement of his home and sending his thugs down to beat him to death. The Thunderer would fight his way to freedom and confront Gore one-on-one. The fight would cause a short in one of the wires connected to Gore's radio equipment causing a massive fire. The Thunderer would knock Gore into the flames. Recovering the madman from the fire the Thunderer would carry Gore out of the growing inferno. Outside, Gore would confess that he committed the murders as revenge against a society that shunned him due to his appearance. Gore would then die, the exact cause of death is unrecorded although was likely due to burns sustained in the blaze.[citation needed]

Paraphernalia

Equipment

Gore utilized radio equipment that would allow him to transmit Morse Code over the radio airwaves, and telephone lines.

Weapons

Gore implemented specially rigged devices that were activated by specific triggers. A combination of his Morse Code signal (a dash and two dots, that signified the letter "D" in Morse) and the object being used by a person would cause a lethal effect. Such devices included a radio set that administered a lethal jolt of electricity through the tuning knob, a telephone that would fire a poison dart through the ear piece, and another radio set that would fire a bullet upon being turned on.
