A honeycombed structure, where every soul will grow and evolve in solitude... until they are ready to become one with their hive. I call it--THE GREAT NEST!

Shathra[source]

History

Conceived and modeled by the elder goddess Shathra of Earth-001, the daughter of Gaea and Oshtur, the Great Nest was supposed to be her attempt at a celestial map of humanity's cosmic fate. However, it was not realized as her mothers chose the Great Web created by Shathra's little sister, Neith. Although she gave her blessing, Shathra was consumed by bitterness and wrathful envy at her sister upstaging her, so she poisoned the Great Web and laid a trap in a primal strand to summon her hence when the strand was found. Eventually, Spiderling, the Spider-Totem avatar known as the Patternmaker, examined said primal strand and unknowingly triggered the ancient trap which revived Shathra in the present day. A sting by Shathra mutated Annie into the servile "Nestling," while Shathra then sought End of the Spider-Verse.[2] As Shathra went about hunting spiders to kill or turn,[3] she supplanted the strands of the Great Web with her molded rooms of her Great Nest, as she then sought to kill the chosen champion of the Great Web, Spider-Man 616.[4]
