History
The Grind Stone Café was coffee house in Salem Center, New York. It was operated (and possibly owned) by Luna DePaula.[1] Many of the Xavier Institute's staff and students frequented the café.

At one time, Luna was attacked and robbed by Surge. At the time, Surge was having difficulty control her powers and needed the money for drugs.[2] When Surge had recovered she began to work at the Grind Stone Café after school to repay Luna the money she stole.[3][4]
The Grind Stone Café was destroyed with a bomb during Kimura and The Facility's attack on X-23 and Mercury.[5]Residents
