Groot and Rocket Raccoon were apprehended and put in the Raft, the Avengers helped secure their release. Captain America was infected by a fungal zombie virus by an unknown figure impersonating General Ross, spreading it to the rest of the Avengers. Groot guided the uninfected Hulk towards the Avengers Tower so that Bruce Banner could synthesize the antidote while managing Banner's Hulk persona. Using an electrical shock, Groot restored the Avengers and Rocket Raccoon to normal, but by then the virus had spread to the X-Men. [1]
