- The newly renovated pavilion will be themed to be the "Galaxarium", a planetarium-like exhibit hosted the Xandarian Nova Corps.[1]
Trivia
- This attraction will occupy the Energy Pavilion. The Energy Pavilion original attraction, Universe of Energy, opened along with Epcot on October 1st, 1982. The original attraction operated from 1982-1996 when it was renovated and reopened as Ellen's Energy Adventure. This second iteration finally closed on August 13, 2017.[2]
- This attraction was first announced at the D23 Expo on July 15th, 2017.[2] The official name of the attraction was revealed two year later at the D23 Expo in August, 2019.[3]
- Filming for this attraction began in January, 2021. Filmmaker Taika Waititi will directing the scenes and filming with the cast will occur during the filming of Thor: Love and Thunder.[4]
- This is the second permanent Disney Theme Park attraction inspired by the Guardians of the Galaxy, with the first being Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! in Disney California Adventure which opened on May 27, 2017. This is also the first permanent attraction at the Walt Disney World resort to be inspired by Marvel Comics characters or the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
