History
The Guardians of the Galaxy shared a similar history to that of their Earth-199999 counterpart, unbeknownst to them, an artificial intelligence called Ultron got hold of the Infinity Stones and was eradicating life from the entire universe.
Star-Lord was with Gamora and Drax on Sovereign when they were attacked by Ultron's Sentinels and attempted to defend themselves but were killed in the attempt.[1]See Also
