Synopsis for "Split Decision"
When Taserface held Nikki in a headlock, Martinex encased them both in a block of ice as Aleta and Starhawk crashed onto Courg. Martinex set up a wall of fire around the perimeter while Vance checked on Aleta and Charlie fought the Stark. Vance saw that Starhawk was okay, but Aleta looked comatose, so he transported her to the Freedom Lady's sickbay. Then, he told Starhawk to join the others, but the latter took off and flew into the sky. Yondu woke up next to Atur holding a knife to his throat and ultimately deciding not to kill him. Atur revealed that a "blue one" killed his brother before Yondu joined his teammates.
In Deep Space, Brahl and Force spotted the Firelord from their ship and watched him pass them, although Firelord planned to return to them. When Broadside presented the Book of Antag, Force attempted to decipher its clues that would lead them to the legendary Invincible Shield.
Back on Courg, Yondu saw the wall of fire blocking him from his teammates. Inside of the wall, Vance saw Nikki's body heat starting to melt the ice, so Martinex used both fire and ice to regulate the rate of melting. As Nikki broke free, she claimed that she was not okay, but she was once she shot Taserface with a stun blast. Martinex, Nikki, and Vance prepared to leave, but Charlie insisted that he had a mission to complete.
On the Stark homeworld, a council of elders learned of the events on Courg and suggested leaving the matter to Commander Blackhand.
Onboard the Freedom's Lady, Martinex and Vance argued about leaving Starhawk behind when Charlie returned to their ship with a captured Stark general. Aleta woke up on the ship and learned that Starhawk had left them. Their conversation was interrupted when a Stark ship urged them to surrender. The Guardians attempted to use the captured general as leverage,
Meanwhile, Starhawk traveled through the Bledsoe System until returning to the Freedom's Lady, which was destroyed by the Stark Ship in front of him.

- Instead of a regular letters page, there is "The History of the Guardians" by Jim Valentino.
