History
The haetae [해태] are creatures exhibiting both canine and feline features that dwell within Ta-Lo, the world of the Xian, the Taoist gods.[2]

The throne of Yu Huang, the Jade Emperor of Ta-Lo, was adorned with jade statues of haetae.[3]
The haetae served as assistants to the Xian brothers Jinzha and Muzha. When Jinzha and Muzha decided to identify a Ring Keeper on their own terms by hosting a Game of Rings, the haetae were sent to the Earth realm to transport the ten chosen tournament participants to the Meritorious Striving Pagoda in Ta-Lo.[1] As the fighting tournament progressed, the haetae were on hand to assist the brothers in administrative duties,[4] and appeared alongside Jinzha and Muzha at the tournament's conclusion to award the Ten Rings to Shang-Chi.[5]Notes
It is unknown whether the Haetae are related to the Haechi referenced in New Warriors (Vol. 5) #7 (September, 2014)
