History

Early Life[]

Harold "Harry" Osborn's life was identical to that of his counterparts from Earth-21913, such as being friends with Mary Jane Watson, up until after the death of his father during a fight with Spider-Man. However Harry actually discovered that Norman was in fact the villainous Green Goblin, meaning he doesn't swear revenge on Spider-Man.[1]

Becoming the Green Goblin[]

While searching through his father's belongings, Harry discovered evidence that Norman had been paying the Skulls as part of his criminal activities. Determined to discover the truth, Harry took his father's Green Goblin gear and set out to learn what his father had been doing, becoming the new Green Goblin. During his investigations he ended up saving a young woman and returning her purse, who noted that the city could use more masked vigilantes like him. Eventually his fight with the Skulls led him to fight their leader Spike at his hideout, but Spike knew nothing except that he had met the Green Goblin fairly recently. Shortly after this Harry was attacked by Oscorp Light Mech Hunter-Killer, but was able to destroy them and realised that they must have been sent by someone from Oscorp.[1]

Harry then ends up fighting the Shocker, who had just robbed a bank, at Grand Central Station, desiring to show the police and the public that he was one of the good guys. After rescuing the police and civilians from several thugs working for the Shocker, he followed the criminal into the sewers where he fought more of his henchman before battling the leader himself in the subway. Not long after this Harry also fights and defeats Vulture in an arial battle after he steals some gems, before saving Scorpion from more Hunter-killer spider robots sent by Oscorp, though the two end up fighting.[1]

The Other Goblin[]

While at the city's Unity Day Festival, Harry surprisingly encounters another person with the same equipment as him, who then places Mary Jane in danger. After rescuing her, who recognises Harry's voice despite the mask, Harry chases after the other Goblin in an arial battle. During the fight the other Goblin revealed himself to be a mercenary hired by Norman to kill Spider-Man, having been given the Goblin gear to accomplish this. However he failed which led Norman to fire him, with the mercenary now wanting to take over both Oscorp and as the Goblin. During their fight the mercenary leaves bombs across the city, but Harry is able to defuse them and continues the fight against the imposter. However Harry is forced to hide in a construction side as he finds himself overwhelmed by the mercenary's weapons.[1]

Harry later breaks into Oscorp and learns more about the dangerous technologies being developed there, fighting several robots when he's discovered, as well as shutting down dangerous chemical weapons they were creating. He then discovers that the mercenary Goblin had kidnapped Mary Jane, and chases after him to try and save her. Their fight leads them to the Queensboro Bridge, where Harry is able to save Mary Jane before defeating the mercenary.[1]

Paraphernalia

Equipment

  • Goblin Armor: Harry wore an experimental OsCorp flight suit modified for battle, given to him by Norman Osborn. The suit was also linked to the Goblin Glider, allowing him to control it remotely via a switch hidden in the wrist. It also appeared to give him a form of enhanced speed, which left a trail of fire behind him.

Weapons

  • Pumpkin Bombs: Harry used pumpkin-shaped concussive hand grenades that were stored in his glider; he also used a flash bang variant that could disorient opponents.
  • Razor Bat: Harry also used pumpkin-shaped drones, which sprout razor-bladed “bat-wings” when deployed, then would swarm and physically attack an opponent with targeted strikes.

Transportation

  • Goblin Glider: Harry piloted a jet-powered flying platform that was armed with heat-seeking missiles, machine guns and blade launchers.

Notes

  • Harry Osborn is voiced by Josh Keaton in Spider-Man.
  • Harry doesn't appear to have taken OsCorp's human performance enhancers, since he states that he only took Norman's goblin gear, referring to the suit, glider and weapons. While he shows a lot of superhuman physical feats, it's unclear whether that's natural skill or whether the suit itself provided some enhancements.
  • Harry notably kills in the game, with his glider firing bullets and dangerous weapons.
