Harvey Grayson was a scientist who selfishly invented a machine that would transfer the natural characteristics of a gorilla into himself in order to use that ape's strength and abilities for profit. Taking a gorilla from the city zoo, he subjected himself to his machine which, however, did not transfer the characteristics of the gorilla into him but rather transformed him into the gorilla himself with the same mental abilities as the monkey while the gorilla took the characteristics of the scientist bringing Grayson back to his ape-like features at the zoo and taking the place of the scientist but with the commitment that his skills and inventions as a scientist would be used for humanity.[1]
