History

Hastur was one of the many entities invoked in the counter-spell from the Book of R'lyeh that would banish the N'Garai back in their dimension.

Notes

• Hastur was created by Ambrose Bierce in his short story "Haïta the Shepherd" (1893), and was mentioned by Robert E. Chambers in The Yellow King (1895), then briefly mentioned in H.P. Lovecraft's The Whisperer in Darkness (1931), and later incorporated in the Cthulhu Mythos by August Derleth.
