History

Heater Delight was an alien who fell victim to slavery and was sold to the Procurer Pro-Boscis as one of his many prostitutes. Due to Pro-Boscis confining her with a bracelet, she became a commodity in his Pleasure Cruiser. She tried to contact her ex-lover Starfox to help her free herself, but fearing for his safety Heater decided to recruit someone more disposable instead. She encountered Pip the Troll on Sirius X whom she manipulated into helping to free her from slavery, promising him some unimaginable pleasure experience. He managed to cut the cable holding her, but it triggered an alarm that caused Pro-Boscis to teleport to their location. Pip managed to defeat the Procurer, only for Starfox to arrive afterwards and ran off with Heater, leaving Pip in charge of the cruiser.[1]

After she and Eros parted ways, Heater developed a small business and eventually entered a relationship with the Mystery Planet's monarch Black Roger. When Roger proposed to make a "hundred year contract" with her, she tried to refuse. Seeing that Roger wouldn't take "no" for an answer, she fled and fell back into slavery, this time by Aaron the Aakon who gave her to Axel of the Rescorlans. Starfox again came to her rescue, driving Axel into a frenzy through haggling, allowing him to buy Heater at a much lower prize. Just as they were about to leave, the Rescorlan realized what was going on and sent his people after the couple, forcing Starfox to carry Heater to his father's ship before immediately taking off.[2]

Heater and Eros traveled together through space, until they crashed into another disabled ship. She accompanied Starfox in his investigation of the ship, discovering it was named the Principle of Reasonable Interest. Inside they were met by the last surviving crew member Aalbort who told them that the Principle had been attacked by Azunbulxibar and his forces. Aalbort elaborated that his crew had sacrificed themselves to trap Azunbulxibar's army inside a portal seal with meteor shield forcefields, but the attackers were now coming back. Eros helped with the situation by defeating Azunbulxibar and his army, earning him praise by Heater.[3]

Eros brought Heater to the commercial center Kotzwinkle where he bought her an extremely valuable bracelet, before going to Checker Lounge III. At the club Eros met with an old friend of his by the name of Howlin' Wolf, but their conversation was soon interrupted by the arrival of Heater's ex, Dark Roger. He had tracked her down for the purpose of proposing to her again, and upon reuniting with Heater he activated a device that engulfed the entire room they were in sparkling lights. She again refused, as despite liking him she didn't want to settle down, leading to Roger revealing that his device had actually teleported the club to his homeworld's Caverns of Silence. He intended to keep her here until she changed her mind, and growing angry over being interrupted Starfox and Howlin' Wolf attacked Roger and his men. While Starfox used the device to return the club to Kotzwinkle, Heater rewarded Howlin' Wolf with a kiss.[4]

Again separated from Starfox, Heater was kidnapped by Annihilus and Blastaar to blackmail Pip into bringing them the Hulk. Upon doing so, Pip was reunited with Heater and immediately teleported her to Starlin's Bar in Knowhere. She inquired Pip on why he brought her to such a slummy place, to which he explained that he had spent most of his money trying to save her and as he planned to rescue the Hulk he came to the conclusion that he should bring in Thanos, though she wasn't sure it was a good idea. Assuring her he would be fine, Pip teleported away, leaving Heater all alone in the bar. There she took interest in Quasar and the two immediately hit it off before leaving the bar together.[5]
