History
Origins[]
Helgor was a demon[2] of unspeficied origin,[4] an evil deity,[3] and possibly one of Deep God.[1] He was considered a minor demon.[5]
Pre-Cataclysmic Age[]
At some point, Helgor was bound in the "nighted depths" by Great Raama.[2]
During an incantation, Gonar stated that Helgor and Honen were gathering unto themselves the souls of the beings that were slaughtered in the battle between the forces of Valusia led by Kull and the Ape Lords led by Rotath of Lemuria.[6]Notes
- Helgor was created by Robert E. Howard in "The Curse of the Golden Skull".[3]
- In "The Fiend from the Forgotten City" (Conan the Barbarian #40; July, 1974), the demon named on the cover as the "Fiend from the Forgotten City" was stated to be the "minion of Hotath and Helgor", then the "minion of the Deep Gods", hinting both Hotath and Helgor are "Deep Gods".
- Inanna's profile in Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z #14 recounts the events of Conan the Barbarian #40 but mentions Holgar instead of Helgor. Whether this is an error based on the names' similitude or if Helgor and Holgar are supposed to be the same entity remains unrevealed.
