Synopsis for "X of Swords: Chapter 06"
In the grove, Empath is brought back from death. Xavier re-implants his memories, and Empath immediately becomes belligerent, insulting him and Hope.
The Quiet Council holds a meeting discussing the coming tournament, fearing that they may stand to lose more than they have to gain. Mr. Sinister takes the floor and presents a bold plan; that his Hellions go on an expedition to Arakko and steal the Arakii swords, forcing the Arakkii to forfeit the tournament. The suggestion passes the Council's vote. Exodus presents a motion that Sinister personally lead the mission, which is initially voted down, but after a gloating Sinister inadvertently insults Magneto's daughter, he changes his vote, and Sinister is forced to lead the mission.
Having been briefed on the mission, Psylocke and Havok inform the other Hellions of what is to come, and warn them that dying in Arakko or Otherworld will mean they are permanently dead. Meanwhile, Mr. Sinister thaws out one of his clones and briefs him on the mission, ordering the clone to do it instead of him. The clone refuses however, and threatens to tell the Quiet Council about the illegal clone farm Sinister is hiding on Krakoa. After a brief argument, the pair agree to play rock-paper-scissors to determine who goes.
Sinister and the Hellions assemble by the portal to Avalon and cross over, hoping to gain King Jamie's favor in order to make their way to Arakko. Sinister succeeds in convincing a bored Jamie to allow them passage into Avalon, but is forced into an exchange of gifts, with Jaime giving them a horse in exchange for Sinister's cape. Furious over losing his cape and desperate to replace it, Sinister leads the Hellions into a marketplace to look for a new one. There, they are stopped by servants of Saturnyne, who recognize the horse Jamie gave them as one stolen from Saturnyne's stables. Knowing that if they are discovered by Saturnyne, Krakoa will be disqualified and the Earth will be doomed, Sinister asks Empath to use his powers to defuse the situation. Empath refuses, and only agrees once Sinister allows him to make Greycrow his pet.
With the situation resolved, the Hellions equipped with new horses, and Sinister with a new cape, they ride on towards Arakko.
