History

Hellphyr was a powerful creature sealed within the Tome of Zhered-Na centuries ago to prevent people from gaining its secrets. According to Doctor Strange, if set free, Hellphyr would track down and kill every mage in the world.

In modern days Marduk Kurios wanted to get rid of mages, so he tricked Andrew Kale to open the Tome of Zhered-Na. Hellphyr was freed, possessed Andrew and used his body to kill multiple mystics, including Illusion becoming stronger with every death.

To stop Hellphyr, Doctor Strange gathered Andrew's sister, Jennifer Kale, Topaz, and Satana. Jennifer wanted to free her brother, but he and Hellphyr became inseparable, so the three were forced to kill him and Andrew.
